However, the tower collapsed due to Typhoon No. 18 in 2004, making it impossible to continue observations under the same conditions.
The typhoon in September 2004 caused large-scale windfall damage in forests throughout the province (area of damage: 37,000 ha in all). The Tomakomai observation site also suffered about 90% wind-damage and conventional observations can no longer continue. However, in order to elucidate the changes in the carbon budget and its mechanism during the vegetation recovery process, we are currently cooperating with Hokkaido University (Graduate School of Agriculture) on the basis of a joint project system with the Hokkaido Regional Forest Office, to continue observations of CO2, water vapor, and Energy flux observation has been continued. The turbulent fluxes of sensible heat, latent heat, CO2 were measured using the eddy covariance system.
After the wind damage, winter observations were not conducted, but a tower was erected in 2012, and observations have been conducted year-round since 2013.
<Purpose /></Summary><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>GET DATA</Type><Subtype>GET DATA</Subtype></URL_Content_Type><URL>https://ads.nipr.ac.jp/dataset/A20241210-030</URL><Description>Access to data files</Description></Related_URL><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Type><Subtype>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Subtype></URL_Content_Type><URL>https://db.cger.nies.go.jp/gem/ja/flux/tomakomai_n.html</URL><Description></Description></Related_URL><Related_URL><URL_Content_Type><Type>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Type><Subtype>VIEW RELATED INFORMATION</Subtype></URL_Content_Type><URL>https://asiaflux.net/index.php?page_id=113</URL><Description></Description></Related_URL><IDN_Node /><Metadata_Name>CEOS IDN DIF</Metadata_Name><Metadata_Version>9.7</Metadata_Version><DIF_Creation_Date>2025/04/16</DIF_Creation_Date><Last_DIF_Revision_Date /><DIF_Revision_History /><Future_DIF_Review_Date /><Private></Private></DIF></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
