to analyse the asymmetrically developing aurora surge observed at Tjornes in Iceland and Syowa Station in Antarctica on September 22, 2018. Images are captured at a time resolution of 100 frames-per-seconds by high-speed aurora imager systems consisting of an electron-multiplier charge-coupled device (EMCCD) camera (ImagEM X2 C9100-23B, Hamamatsu Photonics) and a fisheye lens (FujinonFE185C086HA-1).
