    Summary

  • We used a soil core with 25 cm2 opened area and 5cm depth for collecting Collembola in the soil at each field plot set at KW, Salluit and Pond Inlet. At most of the sampling point, the soil depth was less than 10cm or the frozen layer or water table appeared at 10 or 15 cm depths. Thus, we took samples using the two or three cores united by plastic tapes. Collembola were extracted using Fukuyama's extracting apparatus for three days (Fukuyama 208). The Collembola were identified under abinocular microscope (magnification 400 X, occasionally 1000 X). The species names were determined following Christiansen and Bellinger (1998) and Bellinger et al. (1996-2019).
