NRR: NIPR Rock Repository

NIPR Rock Repository is a facility established in Polar Science Resources Center, National Institute of Polar Research, Japan. The repository has collected and preserved rock specimens since the first Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE-1, 1957). The archive stores rocks and minerals not only from Antarctica but also Sri Lanka, India, Africa and other areas as international scientific research. Specimens are organized according to year and region and are updated in database.
