Ground-based remote sensing of aerosol and clouds at Ny-Alesund

Science Summary (common)

[purpose] In order to investigate optical properties and vertical structures of aerosol and clouds, long-term continuous measurements are performed with active/passive remote sensing instruments. [outline] Micropulse lidar is placed at AWIPEV Station and operated by the on-site engineer. The MPL data are transferred to NIPR, and finally available at the MPLNET website operated by NASA/GSFC. Skyradiometer and skyviewcam are placed at NIPR Rabben Station and automatically operated. The data will be available from a website in NIPR.
