ID-389 :   Investigation of aerosols acting as ice nucleating particles in Ny-Alesund, Svalbard

Type

FIELDWORK

Research/Observation Title

Investigation of aerosols acting as ice nucleating particles in Ny-Alesund, Svalbard

Science Summary (common)

Little is known about the impact of aerosol particles on ice nucleation in Arctic mixed-phase clouds. The aim of this project is to investigate the sources, compositions, and concentrations of aerosol particles acting as ice nucleating particles (INPs) under mixed-phase cloud conditions, based on field experiments in Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard.
