Research/Observation Title

Long-term data of seaice and ocean color in the Arctic Ocean derived from polar orbiting satellites during 1998-2016

Science Summary (common)

Long-term sea ice and ocean color (chlorophyll-a) dataset were generated for eight sub-ocean areas in the Arctic Ocean derived from polar orbiting satellites. We used SSM/I, AMSR-E, WindSat, AMSR2 data for sea ice and SeaWiFS and MODIS data for ocean color. Output data of sea ice are open water period (OWP or OWD), open water area (OWA), timing of sea ice retrieat (TSR), and timing of sea ice advance (TSA) for the eight oceans. Output of ocean color are 8-day composite chlorophyll-a concentration for the eight oceans.
