Research/Observation Title
Arctic Ocean Monthly Dynamic Ocean Topography derived from the measurements of satellite radar altimeters
Science Summary (common)
In ice-covered ocean such as the Arctic Ocean, it is difficult to obtain spatiotemporal variability of the ocean circulation by in-situ observation alone. This data is the dynamic ocean topography (DOT) estimated by using the sea surface height retrieval from satellite radar altimeters. The DOT defines the stream function of the geostrophic flow in the surface layer. To build this data, we employed the data from CryoSat-2, Jason-2, Jason-3, and Sentinel-3A. Temporal and spatial resolutions are monthly and 50km, respectively.
