Science Summary

今年度は掘削場を整備した後、掘削を開始する。また、現場解析室(サイエンストレンチ)などの立ち上げがおこなわれる。我々日本の研究者は、現地で表層積雪の採取や4mピット観測、10mのアイスコア掘削を計画している。持ち帰った雪氷試料に含まれる様々な化学種を分析し、濃度レベルや同位体組成を明らかにする。またそれらの鉛直プロファイルから、観測地点における近年の雪の年間堆積量を復元する。
