ID-248 :   Remote sensing of aerosol and clouds at Ny-Alesund

Type

FIELDWORK

Research/Observation Title

Remote sensing of aerosol and clouds at Ny-Alesund

Science Summary (common)

[purpose] In order to investigate optical properties and vertical structures of aerosol and clouds, long-term continuous measurements are performed with active/passive remote sensing instruments. [outline] Micropulse lidar is placed at Koldewey Station and operated by AWI, Germany. The MPL data are transferred to NIPR, and finally available at the MPLNET website operated by NASA/GSFC. Skyradiometer and skyviewcam are placed at NIPR Rabben Station and automatically operated. The data will be available at a website in NIPR.
