ID-245 :   Ice Climatology in the Baltic Sea

Type

FIELDWORK

Research/Observation Title

Ice Climatology in the Baltic Sea

Science Summary (common)

[purpose] To conduct field investigations for tracking the evolving properties of frozen lake ice and landfast sea ice in the bay and for monitoring the thermal regime during the growth through melt seasons in the Baltic Sea [outline] Measurements of atmospheric and oceanic boundary layer over/under the ice will be carried out at a frozen lake ice in the southern Finland and landfast sea ice in a bay in the Gulf of Finland.

Planning Period
