Title

Current and Future Climate Experiments with an ice-ocean coupled model

Abstract

To improve the sea-ice predictability in the Arctic Ocean under the current and future climate conditions, we have conducted a simulation with a global ice-ocean coupled model (COCO), in which the horizontal resolution is 0.25 degree, from 2006 to 2099. In this study, we will clarify the important physical processes that control the Arctic climate.

Abstract (Brief description of the experiment contents (initial conditions, boundary conditions, etc.))
In this experiment, initial condition was taken from the results simulated with CORE forcings. To consider the global warming signal, surface boundary conditions were created as follows. First climatology (CORE_CLIM) was calculated by the results simulated from 1980 to 1999 with CORE forcings and anomalies (MIROC_ANOM) from 1970 to 2099 were calculated from the results of RCP8.5 emission scenarios with MIROC5. Finally surface boundary conditions were created by adding MIROC_ANOM to CORE_CLIM. The model COCO was integrated from 1970 to 2099. The data from this experiment are sea ice concentration, sea ice thickness, sea ice velocity, surface elevation, ocean velocity, temperature, and salinity.
