FIELDWORK

Research/Observation Title

Continuous monitoring of Energy, water vapor, CO2 and CH4 fluxes by micrometeorological measurements at a black spruce forests in Fairbanks

Science Summary (common)

The research site was established at October 2002, at a black spruce forest in the campus of University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Energy, water vapor, CO2 and CH4 fluxes were measured using the eddy covariance method. Micrometeorology and other environmental variables (etc., LAI, thaw depth, water table depth, soil temperature and moisture) were also measured. Soil respiration and CH4 fluxes at the forest floor were also measured using a dynamic closed chamber method.
