Abstract

Ice-sheet model for integrated Earth-system studies (IcIES) is a time-dependent, three-dimensional, thermodynamically coupled numerical ice-sheet model. The model computes the evolution of the ice thickness, bedrock elevation, and ice temperature under a history of climate forcing, given in terms of surface mass balance and surface temperature, which may depend on the computed ice-sheet topography. Typically for Greenland ice-sheet simulation, the model domain spans 1500 km times 2800 km, with a horizontal resolution of 10 km.
